LinkIP by EG Broadcast is a specialist wireless IP system designed for film, television and live productions that require connectivity they can rely on. It provides a stable, low-latency wireless connection between on-set systems that would traditionally be linked by Ethernet, reducing long cable runs while maintaining the predictable behaviour expected of critical production infrastructure.
LinkIP operates in the 2.0–2.5 GHz licensed wireless spectrum in the UK, introducing a level of predictability that unlicensed wireless systems cannot offer. When a production arrives on site, the wireless environment is known, controlled and protected, rather than shared with public networks or venue infrastructure. This allows performance to remain consistent throughout the day, even in busy or RF-heavy locations.
A LinkIP system is built around LinkIP Home and LinkIP Remote units. The Home unit acts as the central hub, while Remote units are deployed wherever reliable wireless IP connectivity is required across the set, venue or site. Using mesh-based wireless technology, LinkIP can be supplied as a simple one-to-one link or expanded into a multi-node network, allowing the system to scale naturally with the size and complexity of the production.
LinkIP is designed for longer-range wireless operation than typical on-set networking solutions, making it well suited to large venues, extended locations and outdoor sites where reliable connectivity is required over greater distances. This extended reach, combined with licensed spectrum and mesh architecture, allows productions to plan networks with confidence rather than compromise around physical limitations.
This makes LinkIP particularly well suited to mission-critical and multi-cam workflows, including wireless camera control using systems such as Cyanview, IP-based monitoring and data communication between departments. It is especially valuable on events, concerts and sports productions, where reliability, coverage and predictability are essential.
Because LinkIP uses licensed PMSE spectrum, an Ofcom PMSE licence is required in the UK. Shoot Blue manages this process on behalf of clients, ensuring the appropriate licensing is in place before the kit arrives on set. Systems are supplied configured and supported, allowing productions to focus on delivery rather than network management.
LinkIP is a production-focused wireless IP solution, built for scale, reach and predictable performance in demanding environments. It can be supplied in a range of configurations, from simple point-to-point links to larger multi-node systems, and is backed by practical on-set support from the Shoot Blue team, who are happy to advise on the most appropriate setup for your production.
