CyanView is an advanced remote camera control and shading system, capable of managing anything from a single camera to complex multi-camera productions with well over one hundred cameras.
Using standard IP-based infrastructure – including WiFi, Ethernet and fibre – CyanView enables remote access to a wide range of camera functions. These include camera menus, shutter speed, iris and shading controls, as well as internal ND filters, all controllable in real time from a central position.
The CyanView system is camera-agnostic, supporting the vast majority of professional cinematography and broadcast cameras, including models from ARRI, Sony, Canon and Blackmagic Design. This makes it particularly well suited to productions working with mixed camera packages or evolving technical requirements.
CyanView is equally at home in traditional outside broadcast environments and modern cinematic production workflows.
Typical applications include multi-camera and live productions, drama and feature work where it is beneficial for cameras to be controlled and monitored from a single point – for example by a DIT or Director of Photography – as well as long-distance control of remote or hard-to-access cameras.
When used with cameras such as the Sony BURANO and FX9, paired with Sony E-mount lenses, iris control can be achieved remotely without the need for external lens motors. This makes CyanView an excellent choice for cinematic multi-camera environments where fast deployment, reduced rigging and minimal infrastructure are priorities.
To complement CyanView, Shoot Blue provides a comprehensive range of IP connectivity solutions, including production-grade PoE switches, structured cabling and wireless networking. In addition to conventional WiFi, this can include sub-GHz 868 MHz wireless IP links such as Bit Part (Bitbox), offering extended range and robust performance for remote cameras, as well as licensed wireless mesh systems such as LinkIP, operating in the 2 GHz to 2.5 GHz spectrum. These options provide a secure, private alternative where WiFi congestion or limited range may be an issue, and can be deployed individually or as part of a hybrid wired and wireless network, tailored to each production.
