Modern Slavery Statement
For the Financial Year Ending 31 March 2025
Issued by Shoot Blue Limited
1. Introduction
Modern slavery is a crime and a violation of fundamental human rights. It takes various forms, including slavery, servitude, forced and compulsory labour, and human trafficking. All of these involve the deprivation of a person’s liberty for the purpose of exploitation.
Shoot Blue Hire Ltd has a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and human trafficking. We are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business dealings and relationships. We aim to implement and enforce effective systems and controls to ensure modern slavery is not taking place anywhere in our own business or in any of our supply chains.
Although our turnover is below the statutory threshold for mandatory compliance with section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015, we have chosen to publish this statement voluntarily as part of our commitment to transparency and ethical business practice.
Modern slavery is a crime and a violation of fundamental human rights. It takes various forms, such as slavery, servitude, forced and compulsory labour and human trafficking, all of which have in common the deprivation of a person’s liberty by another in order to exploit them for personal or commercial gain.
2. Our Business and Structure
Shoot Blue is a UK-based business supplying professional camera and lighting equipment to the film, television, and content production industries. We operate from our headquarters in West London and serve a diverse range of clients across the creative and media sectors.
We work with a network of suppliers and contractors who provide products and services that support our operations, including logistics, equipment manufacturing, and ancillary support services.
3. Our Commitment
We are committed to ensuring that there is transparency within our own business and in our approach to tackling modern slavery throughout our supply chains. We expect the same high standards from all of our suppliers, contractors, and other business partners. As part of our procurement processes, we will:
Include specific prohibitions against the use of forced, compulsory, or trafficked labour, or anyone held in slavery or servitude, whether adults or children;
Require suppliers to confirm their own compliance with anti-slavery and human trafficking legislation;
Expect suppliers to hold their own supply chains to the same standards.
4. Risk Assessment and Due Diligence
We assess the risk of modern slavery in our operations and supply chains by considering:
The nature and location of services provided;
The type of goods procured;
The industry sector and known risk areas.
Where appropriate, we carry out due diligence on new suppliers and reserve the right to audit or request additional information from existing suppliers, especially where elevated risk has been identified.
We recognise that the greatest risks typically lie within extended supply chains rather than direct Tier 1 suppliers. We remain alert to any potential issues in all tiers of our supplier relationships.
5. Training and Awareness
Training on this policy and the risks of modern slavery forms part of the induction process for all new employees. Ongoing awareness is maintained via internal communications and updates.
Managers are responsible for ensuring that team members understand this policy and are supported in raising concerns. We also communicate our zero-tolerance approach to all relevant third parties at the outset of business relationships and reinforce it as appropriate thereafter.
6. Reporting and Compliance
All staff are expected to read, understand, and comply with this policy.
We encourage a culture of openness. Any individual who suspects that modern slavery or human trafficking may be occurring in any part of our business or supply chain is urged to report their concerns as early as possible. Concerns can be raised with a line manager, a company Director, or through our Whistleblowing Policy.
We are committed to supporting any person who raises a concern in good faith. No one will suffer retaliation or detrimental treatment for doing so, even if the concern proves to be unfounded.
7. Support and Remediation
Where a potential issue is identified, we will engage with suppliers to offer support and seek resolution, prioritising the welfare and safety of affected individuals. In serious cases, or where no resolution is possible, we reserve the right to terminate business relationships.
8. Performance Indicators
We assess the effectiveness of our anti-slavery measures using the following indicators:
-
Completion of staff training on modern slavery awareness;
-
Due diligence carried out on new suppliers;
-
Reports made and remedial actions taken under this policy.
9. Review and Approval
This statement has been approved by the Board of Directors of Shoot Blue Ltd and will be reviewed annually.
