We are an independent camera and lighting equipment rental house based in London, UK. We supply cutting-edge creative tools to cinematographers, filmmakers and digital content producers.
We’re an independent camera and lighting rental house based in West London — supplying production kit and technical support to filmmakers, cinematographers, and content creators across film, television, and digital.
We started Shoot Blue in 2008 with one aim: to build the rental company we always wished we had when we were on set.
From a single camera and a two-person team, we’ve grown into a trusted rental partner, supporting over 300 shoots a month. Our clients range from major broadcasters and agencies to freelancers and independent crews — and many of them have been working with us for years.
We’re known for the quality of our kit, yes — but more importantly, we’re known for how we show up: approachable, responsive, and ready to help you get the job done right.
The Camera Department.
Our camera floor holds a curated selection of cameras, lenses, accessories, and grip — with a specialism in digital cinematography and high-end visual content production.
Whether you’re building a lightweight handheld rig or a full multicam setup, we supply dependable, configured, and clearly labelled kits, tested by our in-house team before they leave the building.
We stock manufacturers including ARRI, Sony, Canon, RED, Zeiss, Cooke, Fujinon, Angénieux and more — all maintained to spec and ready to roll.
Lighting Rental.
From simple soft three-point interview setups to complex commercial lighting builds, our lighting team can scale your package to suit the job.
We supply the whole workflow: fixtures, grip, stands, modifiers, distro, textiles, and cable — plus options for pre-rig, pre-light and coordination with your gaffer.
We’re one of the few UK rental houses equally strong across both camera and lighting — with the space, stock, and team to handle crossover jobs smoothly.
Seamless Technical Support.
We don’t just hand over a flightcase — we make sure it’s ready for set. Every hire is built and tested in-house, and every client gets access to our technical team if things go sideways on the day.
We carry out lens servicing, camera diagnostics, electrical testing, rigging, and prep — and we offer full use of our test room facilities.
Need advice? Need something pre-configured or pre-rigged? You’ll get straight through to someone who knows the kit — and knows how to solve the problem.
The Shoot Blue Experience.
Having the latest camera and lighting kit is only part of the story. What really sets us apart is the people behind it.
Our team brings not just technical knowledge, but real experience — in equipment rental, on set, and in solving problems before they happen. We aim to be friendly, responsive, and genuinely helpful — offering solid advice and the kind of support that comes from doing this properly, for years.
We believe it’s the way your requirements are handled — clearly, accurately, and with care — that often makes the biggest difference. And we take pride in getting that right.
Going That Extra Mile.
Need kit delivery on location at 5am? Need it collected from set while you wrap? Our logistics team has it covered.
Our fleet handles everything from one-case drop-offs to full truckloads of camera and lighting kit. We also manage international hires, carnets, and customs clearance.
If it needs moving, we’ll find a way — quickly, safely, and with the same care we bring to everything else.
Sustainability.
We are committed to minimising the environmental impact of our business and promoting sustainable working practices within the film and television production industry.
Some of the measures we have taken to reduce our environmental footprint include investment in electric delivery vehicles and using 100% renewable energy in our premises. View our Environmental Policy here
Our Clients.
We work with a broad range of clients — from cinematographers and freelancers to major production companies, broadcasters, agencies, and branded content teams.
We understand that every requirement is unique. Whether it’s a one-day shoot or a six-week schedule, we’ll help you build the right kit list — and back it up with the support to make sure everything runs smoothly. We’re proud to be an approved camera supplier to the BBC, and a trusted partner to many of the UK’s most respected production teams.
